Past decades show a valuable change in the industrial field. Before the vast technological development, people were not used to look at screens most of time. In present times our surroundings are more visual and certain researchers state this as visual pollution. Most of these materials are designed to accommodate visual perception because people are more dependent on the visual sense than on any other one. Visuals leave a strong impression by themselves. Yet, what can happen if the visual sense is verified by another sense? Not letting our vision to be the strongest sense, but to let it be challenged by another sense.

 

A designer has the capability to teach people new ways. In practical studies of the thesis, one of the approaches was the ways in which both senses can work together to provide new experiences for the participant. It also analyses manners in which designers might create new awareness and understanding of tactility through their work. It aims to open the field of visual communication by teaching and educating people not only though our vision but also through tactile perception.

 

The theoretical approach introduced several directions important for the practical work experimentation. First, the embodiment theory was introduced. It explains how our body reacts to objects. Following it, the notions of the conscious and unconscious parts of our perceptions were explained. Through everything what was learned in the theory, the research and practical work was developed in several parts: Sentence, Size, Background and Experience.
